Did you know that women living in poverty face the added challenge of acquiring monthly menstrual hygiene products?

The need for menstrual products is not a topic that many are willing to talk about, it’s personal and for some, it’s a source of shame and embarrassment. For struggling families, the issue is compounded when the need is there for both parents and kids.

At the United Way Trail & District (UWTD)we feel it is important to bring awareness to this often overlooked issue. By partnering with the United Steelworkers we can bring many people together to advocate for change. These products need to be more available to women, especially those who are already struggling to meet their basic needs.

“Menstrual Hygiene products are one of the most requested yet least donated items at food banks.”

Tampon Tuesday is a national campaign that includes many events hosted by United Ways and their community partners across Canada.

The United Way of Trail & District would like to invite you to participate on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019.
